Quit worrying about food

chocolate-cake.jpgThere’s a myth going around, something that has been spread for a long time.  It goes like this:  “I’m overweight but I watch everything I eat, while my friend is skinny as a pole and doesn’t worry about what they at at all!”

This couldn’t be farther from the truth!  It’s the other way around.  Think about it — if you are constantly worry about food and food is always on your mind, what are you going to want to do?  Eat food!  Alternatively, if you’re not on a diet and don’t worry about food all the time — you go about your normally daily habits and eat regularly.

While some people may lose weight with diets like Atkins and The South Beat Diet, diets that restrict foods or certain food groups from your diet sooner or later become hard to follow. They become boring due to the lack of variety and you want to stop following them.

  • This is false.  While it is shown from research that the people who follow a vegetarian die eat less calories and fat than non-vegetarians, it’s not universally true.  Vegetarians probably eat less calories and fat because they are simply more aware and alert of what they are eating.

As with non-vegetarians, those that choose to take food coming from animals out of their diets make bad eating decisions.  This can conist of eating large amounts of high-calories, high-fat foods.  Additionally, they can consume foods with little or no value.  When you don’t have animals in your diet, there are many nutrients that you would need to supplement:

    - iron
    - vitamin D
    - vitamin B12
    - zinc
    - protein
    - calcium

  • What is a Carb Blocker?

A carb blocker supplement helps a person to lose weight by preventing carbohydrates that we consume from being stored as fat in our bodies. It is interesting to note there have been clinical studies conducted which claims that carb blockers do work but the studies were not conclusive. However in my opinion, carb blocker pill does work but the results will vary from person to person.

The main ingredient to be found in carb blocker pills is phaselous vulgaris which is an extract taken from the white kidney bean and wheat germ. It is claimed that by taking carb blocker pills, you are helping to prevent a digestive enzyme known as alpha amylase from breaking carbohydrates down into glucose and in turn into fat.

So instead of your body retaining the carbohydrates and turning them into stored fat, they are removed from the body before they actually have a chance to enter your bloodstream. It is also claimed that these pills can prevent as much as 30 to 45 grams of carbohydrates being absorbed into the body.

Are you having trouble losing weight?

Let’s face it, the world is getting fatter. Our diet and lifestyles are having a negative effect on our waistline and health.

The blog has been set up to discuss diet and weight loss supplements. We’re not talking magic pills that help you lose weight, we’re talking about supplements that you take with a healthy diet that can help you lose weight faster.

Diet supplements, if used correctly, can help you control your calories and get the nutrients your body needs. In the coming months (and years!) we’ll be discussing fat burning supplements, protein bars, meal replacements, carb blockers and more.
